Celebrated Chef Curtis Stone has announced a partnership with Princess Cruises to bring his talents to sea. For those who haven’t had the chance to obtain a reservation at Stone’s award winning Hollywood Restaurant, Maude, it will soon be possible to experience his fresh, seasonal fare fleet wide by the end of 2015.
“Food and travel are my two loves,” Chef Stone explained at a recent event in Los Angeles. So it only makes sense to see this exciting collaboration spring up. Stone appreciated how ships aboard the cruise line already make their own stock and freshly baked bread. Jan Swartz, President of Princess Cruise Lines, explained that the inventive yet comforting “Crafted by Curtis” menu will bring the culinary experience onboard “from great to exceptional.”
The menu we sampled was a fresh, ingredient driven, four course affair that can be found at SHARE on board select ships, and reflects a more refined selection. Beef cheeks in a porcini mushroom pie, butter poached lobster, truffle potato gratin, were all deliciously indicative of the “beautiful comfort food” aimed for by the partnership.
“We’re honored that Princess Cruises is the home of Curtis Stone’s first restaurant at sea,” said Swartz. “SHARE is an exciting new enhancement adding to our guest experience intended to fulfill our ‘come back new’ brand promise.”
SHARE was created to encourage community and the energetic feeling of home that comes from sharing a meal with someone. The specialty dining room is designed by Jeffrey Beers to be a uniquely elegant reminder of family, with a layout that encourages conversation. You can now make advanced reservations at SHARE before boarding. Book early online to ensure a seat at the Chef’s Table, available early 2016.
