Custom Hotel, LAX

In LA Guide, LA Hotels, Pet Friendly by LA Travel Magazine

Located within a mile of LAX, the Custom Hotel is central to iconic beach towns, landmarks and colleges in Los Angeles. This one of a kind boutique hotel invites pets to stay making it another Southern California favorite for our seasoned traveling four legged companions, Miller and Dublin. The boys were welcomed for no additional fees or weight discrepancies into any one of the ‘Deluxe’ rooms.

Modern travelers looking for a simple stay without the headache of scheduling can rest with ease at the Custom Hotel. The hotel features an outdoor pool bar and lounge with stadium seating and a sundeck. Pets are not allowed in the pool but our boys prefer to lounge along with the other business travelers near the five cabanas and fire pit. After a leisurely nap, the boys consider practicing their downward dog in the yoga area but smell food instead and head in the other direction.

Deck 33 Bar and Restaurant offers a selection of cocktails to pair with Pacific-Rim influenced cuisine. Delectable top sirloin, shrimp linguini and calamari dishes are not to be confused with airport food. Lunch and Dinner can be enjoyed wherever guests prefer- lounge, sundeck or poolside cabana.

When work interrupts, five social lounges with unique concepts meant to please each guest are readily available. The Layover Lounge features a communal table and seating hubs for impromptu meetings. Stay focused by taking an Xbox Kinect or Wii break in the Transonic gaming lounge. Don’t stress about the essentials, the hotel has you covered with its Duty Free Lounge, which includes all-natural snacks, ready-to-eat meals and drink machines. If you still can’t find a place to relax, try the Stratosphere, a twelve story high lounge featuring massage chairs, calming music and a peaceful environment. The LAX Lounge will get you ready for your next departure with printers for boarding passes and flight departure displays.

Deluxe and Elevated guestrooms are available, each including a desk with complimentary high-speed wireless Internet access and a stereo with an iPod and MP3 docking station. Miller and Dublin especially enjoyed watching on-demand movies and premium channels on the 37” flat-screen LCD TV; lounging on the 300-thread count sheet, watching Animal Planet completes the day.

When the morning arrives, the hotel makes life a little bit easier for travelers, offering complimentary shuttle services to and from LAX daily from 5 a.m. to 2 a.m.

After a weekend stay, Dublin and Miller are ready to head home but it certainly won’t be the last time they rest their paws at the Custom Hotel.
