Envy Steakhouse, Las Vegas

If Las Vegas is Sin City, then ENVY Steakhouse at the Renaissance Hotel is one of the city’s seven deadly sins. The award-winning restaurant provides an innovative menu filled with exquisite dishes created from the freshest local ingredients that are acclaimed to be sinfully delicious.

Known for their premium meats, this dinner would be a carnivore’s dream. For $55.00 guests can indulge in a Seafood Tower complete with lobster, prawns, oysters, clams, mussels and king crab legs. Since our seafood appetite wasn’t as large as the tower, we started with Peppered Calamari & Rock Shrimp with Ginger-Mirin Aioli and Marinara. For a landlocked city, the seafood was surprisingly fresh.

When selecting an entrée, choose from the grill with steaks that are 100% premium Angus beef. I decided on the 10oz Filet Mignon cooked medium rare with sides of sautéed garlic spinach and a jumbo Idaho baked potato. The filet was perfectly cooked and practically melted in my mouth. My other half went big with a 17oz Bone-In Ribeye with béarnaise sauce and grilled asparagus covered with hollandaise sauce and garlic mashed potatoes on the side. A 40 ounce “Tomahawk” Bone-In Ribeye for $95.00 is readily available for the brave guests who are looking for even more meat.

With our entrees finished we took a second before reviewing the desserts. Cleverly named, the ‘Happy Endings’ dessert menu boasted five options. We selected the Flourless Chocolate Cake with Tahitian vanilla ice cream and raspberry coulis, which was devoured quickly. We also had to try the Nutella doughnut holes, a simply amazing treat.

Aside from the delicious food, ENVY Steakhouse provides an ample wine selection from a nicely laid-out wine wall and cellar filled with over 1,500 bottles. Hand crafted cocktails are also creatively infused with unique mixtures. Try the Taste of Cannes with Espolon Tequila, hibiscus syrup, hand pressed lime, Serrano and agave nectar for a refreshing and exotic flavor.

After our large meal, we took a moment to relax in the lavish restaurant with its plush leather seats while sipping on cocktails and enjoying the expansive, dimly lit dining hall. Although we sinned with gluttony, we felt no remorse at all.
