Beyoncé and Jay-Z along with Hollywood’s A-list gathered at The Weinstein Company’s annual pre-Academy Awards dinner at the Montage Beverly Hills to toast this year’s nominees. The elite guests mixed and mingled in anticipation of the upcoming awards ceremony, pacifying both nerves and excitement with three specialty Grey Goose cocktails – Les Visionnaires, Le Cinématique and Le Fizz – during the cocktail hour. The fun continued at dinner where celebs were treated to self-serve Grey Goose Le Fizz cocktails, presented on each table in magnum, goose-adorned glass carafes, and an exclusive performance by Lin Manuel Miranda in honor of Mr. Weinstein’s upcoming passion project, a film adaptation of Broadway sensation In the Heights.
Guests relived the emotional highlights of The Weinstein Company’s film Lion with a special rendition of SIA’s inspirational anthem Never Give Up by renowned pop star Nicole Scherzinger. Her soulful voice charmed the crowd who sang along to the lyrics. The evening culminated with an explosive performance from the cast of Lin Manual Miranda’s first Broadway show In the Heights, whose soaring voices reminded us all of Lion’s central theme, the importance of home and connecting to your roots. Beyoncé and Jay-Z were the most enthusiastic supporters in the crowd and leapt to their feet applauding furiously. Additional notables in attendance included: Nicole Kidman, Dev Patel, Harvey Weinstein & Georgina Chapman, Alyssa Milano, Lin Manual Miranda, Zac Posen, Tracee Ellis Ross, Garth Davis, Edgar Ramirez, Petra Nemcova along with the stars of Harvey’s Broadway smash hit Finding Neverland Matthew Morrison and Kelsey Grammar.
The pre-Academy Awards dinner marked the continuation of a special partnership between Grey Goose and The Weinstein Company, which will give the brand a presence at all TWC’s Oscars and Cannes Film Festival fetes, as well as the production company’s upcoming film premiere parties.
