Travelers staying at St. Lucia’s Jade Mountain Resort between December 13th – 16th are in for a particularly spicy treat. Under the auspices of consulting Chef Allen Susser, the resort will celebrate Spices of the Caribbean, a tasty excursion into the region’s spice box with special cocktails, meals and excursions. This is a culinary journey exploring the diversity of spices grown in the region promising to take the sensory experiences to yet another level at this super scenic luxury hideaway.
Participants will be taken into a world of exotic flavors and places. Specific combinations of herbs and spices produce some the world’s most savory dishes. And at Jade Mountain’s Organic Garden at Emerald Estates, guests will be able to pick their own spices for a genuine farm- to- table experience producing dishes distinctive to St. Lucia’s climate and culture.
The five day spice-fest will include walking and tasting tour of the Organic Estate where guests will learn about the indigenous spices. Then the cooking begins with Chef Allen’s “Spices of the Caribbean” cooking lessons which include a Spice Jerk Cooking Class, a morning Spice Workshop and a Specially Prepared Five-Course Dinner Spectacular with a seasonal and sustainable menu using locally caught fish and seafood and organic grown produce.
