Admirable Family Wines, Locally Approved

Drawing on 20 generations of French winemakers, Béatrice Cointreau has officially launched her first U.S. wine label from Admirable Family Vineyards, releasing the first varietals in their collection, Vigneronne and Blanc & Blanc. The great-granddaughter of Cointreau liqueur founder and the granddaughter of the founder of Rémy Martin, Béatrice was born into a long line of winemakers and distillers, inheriting their passion for wine and values of entrepreneurship. In 2013, Béatrice founded Admirable Family Vineyards in the heart of Malibu, California on a 6 acre estate and began developing her own blends, delivering a quintessential balance of French craftsmanship and California grapes.

Selected and blended by Béatrice Cointreau, Blanc & Blanc is a 2014 vintage and 14.1% alcohol, aging in 100% stainless steel tanks. Pairing well with fish such as grilled or poached salmon, sushi, ceviche or tuna tartar, Blanc & Blanc is dry and fragrant with fruity notes of apricot and mango on the palate.  The finale is fresh with hints of lemon and long due to the natural ability of the Chardonnay to support the wine through aging, leaving the mouth feeling rich and full.

bottle-wine-page-vigneronneAdmirable’s 2013 Vigneronne is a dark full-bodied red wine, being 56% Syrah, 43% Merlot and 1% other. Aging for 18 months in 100% neutral French Oak barrels, Vigneronne is a perfect balance of Merlot and Syrah, selected and blended by Béatrice. A perfectly crafted California premium, dark full-bodied red wine, with a peppery note in the aftertaste, the varietal pairs well with “coq au vin” as well as scallops, cheese soufflé, steak tartare, duck confit and boeuf bourguignon. Flamboyant notes of blueberry, blackberry and a note of black pepper (a signature of Syrah) fill the Vigneronne, as well as a note of vanilla, which ends with licorice, blended with cardamom and other spices.
