Tucked behind a 12-acre paradise of palm trees, bougainvillea and oaks about an hour south of Los Angeles you’ll find Glen Ivy Hot Springs, just off the 15 freeway in Corona. It boasts 19 pools and spas and exclusive attractions including thermal mineral water baths, an underground grotto, and Glen Ivy’s famous “Club Mud,” California’s only therapeutic red clay mud bath.
One of the best features of Glen Ivy Hot Springs is that booking a treatment is not necessary to enjoy all that it has to offer. Without a treatment, general admission, also known as “taking the waters”, averages $30 depending on what day you choose to come and you’re welcome to stay as long as you like. Whether you desire to lounge in the pool or mineral spa, participate in various yoga or aqua fit classes, or simply enjoy a light lunch and blended beverage at Café Solé- your possibilities are endless.
Glen Ivy Hot Springs has 72 treatment stations in three buildings and additional outdoor treatment areas. “Under the Oaks” is a secluded outdoor area where you can take pleasure in just about any treatment. On our visit, we chose to experience the stress-relieving massage and anti-aging treatment. The stress-relieving massage uses a combination of techniques to meet your specific needs or problem areas, and includes lovely scented massage oil and a cooling stone face massage. The anti-aging massage and body treatment was beyond refreshing and used a honeycomb spa mitt followed by an application of body oils in a light feathering massage motion. The oils are combined with high-quality extracts of paracress, cranberry and cocoa to soothe the skin and protect it from damage.
Glen Ivy Hot Springs is an ideal outing for couples, mother-daughter bonding, a bridal shower, or even a bachelor party, (yes, men are allowed too!) If you’re planning on turning a day into a weekend, several local hotels offer spa packages for guests. Regardless of how long you plan to stay, you’ll absolutely fall in love with Glen Ivy and will already be planning your next visit before you’ve even left the parking lot.
