Las Barcas, Huntington Beach

One thing we know about Southern California is that there are endless Mexican restaurants to choose from and it can be difficult to find one that is empty these days. Why is this? Simply because people that live here love Mexican food.  It is the west coast’s version of comfort food. In my time I have tried many Mexican establishments but always go back to my number one for my favorite burrito! Where is this infamous burrito you ask? Located less than a minute from the soft sand of Huntington Beach, Las Barcas is a local hangout that is always packed.  It has been a fan favorite of locals and surfers for over 26 years!

The restaurant was opened by a loving family from Buenos Aires, Argentina who moved to California to start a new life for their children. Alberto and Carmen Denenberg and their children have made Las Barcas a home away from home for many people and have a huge fan following all around the world.

Las Barcas was named after the endless sailboats that drift away off the shores off  beautiful Huntington Beach (Barca meaning boat in Spanish). If you ever get the chance to spend some time in Huntington Beach be sure to drop by and experience the staff welcome you with open arms and make you feel right at home!

The menu offers a variety of dishes to choose from. From fresh homemade Guacamole, Taquitos, Quesadillas, Burritos, Fajitas and Tacos, there is something for every Mexican food connoisseur. If you’re in the mood for a healthier choice try the Grilled Fish Tacos or the Fitness Burrito which consists of Egg Whites, Grilled Chicken, Beans, Rice, Lettuce and Pico de Gallo. My all time favorite is the Number 9 Burrito which can be made with your choice of Steak, Grilled Chicken or Fish and is stuffed with Shredded Cheese, Guacamole, Beans, Rice, Lettuce and Tomatoes. If you’re feeling saucy ask for it “wet” and a Red Enchilada Sauce will be smothered on top. Oh did I mention I also get the ever famous Beef and Chicken Flautas?  Pair it all with a refreshing Orange Bang and prepare to have your world rocked!

In memory of Alberto Denenberg (A loving family man that will always be in our hearts).
